A film about great ambition, force of will and the price of success. Bogowie in the main programme of the 8th Film Music Festival!

We have a surprise for all fans of Polish film music – another concert in the main programme of the 8th FMF! The showing of BOGOWIE [GODS] – the film with live music by composer Bartosz Chajdecki will take place on Sunday, 31st of May at 3pm in the ICE Kraków Congress Centre.

For the first time in the history of the Film Music Festival in Krakow, we will present a Polish film production, accompanied by live music. Łukasz Palkowski’s film, Bogowie, with Tomasz Kot in a daring performance, was seen by over 2 million viewers in Poland. The movie achieved the highest viewership of all films that reached Polish cinemas in 2014. Bogowie is also in the top 10 of the most popular Polish productions since 1989.

Showered with many prestigious awards, including seven Eagles, the Polish Film Awards also known as the Polish Oscars, the film Bogowie is an extraordinary tale of a rebel who challenged nature, the authorities, and his own limitations. The film tells the story of the first successful Polish heart transplant, performed by Professor Religa in Zabrze. The film shows the drama of unsuccessful surgeries, the fight for every heartbeat, great ambitions and painful failures, and the loneliness of a genius, who stood alone against his mentors and started a revolution in Polish medicine. Tomasz Kot gives a phenomenal performance as Professor Religa, and he is accompanied by some of the best actors, including Jan Englert, Kinga Preis, Zbigniew Zamachowski, and Piotr Głowacki.

The film’s producer – Piotr Woźniak-Starak’s company Watchout Productions, is a partner of the concert.
