The 11th FMF: A picture painted with sounds!

For her, it is enough to just hear a few sounds to fill the empty canvas with art. The picture that emerges in the artists head while listening to the melodies might change its appearance during the recital a number of times. It all depends on emotions. This years annual event, organised by the famous American label Varèse Sarabande as part of the 11th Krakow Film Music Festival, will feature more than just composers and the FMFs favourite soloists this time, the label invited Costa Rican painter and artist Angela Bermúdez. A unique concert with the painter will take place at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre on the 3rd of June at 1:30 p.m. Admission tickets for the event are free.

Varèse Sarabande would like to invite everybody for a recital inspired by art, a live musical performance combined with painting. Angela Bermúdez is a fashion designer from Costa Rica, who loves sculpting and painting. Regarding creating new art pieces inspired by music, she claims that: Colour, movement, softness, sharpness... There are many possibilities and many ways to interpret what you feel at a given moment, the impact of impulses of music.Angela pours the sounds improvised by musicians onto the canvas. On the 3rd of June at the ICE Kraków Congress Centre, she will create a unique piece, inspired by the music of the FMF audiences favourite soloists and guest composers.

During the unique concert, the audience will see Austin Wintory, author of music for video games, including Flow and Grammy-nominated Journey, the first video game soundtrack to receive such a distinction. The concert will also feature Eimear Noone, the charismatic conductor and video game music composer. They will conduct improvisations by Tina Guo, Hans Zimmers favourite cellist and the sensitive and phenomenal flautist Sara Andon. The musicians will inspire the Costa Rican painter with their musical improvisation. The painting will take shape on the canvas right in front of the eyes of 11th FMFs attendees. What will be the result of this unique collaboration? You will have to see it with your own eyes.

Admission tickets for the event are free, and they can be downloaded at www.evenea.pl
