Film music producer, responsible for nearly 1500 film music recordings. In 2010, he celebrated the release of his 1000th album, Alex North’s Spartacus. Townson founded his first record label, Masters Film Music, in 1985. His first album release was Jerry Goldsmith’s The Final Conflict, and their collaboration lasted since, ending up with over 80 albums together.
Townson’s complete discography of original soundtracks, restorations of classics and new recordings is impossible to summarize briefly. It overflows with blockbuster and Academy Award-winning films, iconic and Emmy-winning television productions, as well as Grammy-nominated and -winning recordings. He began producing a series of film music concerts during his days recording with Royal Scottish National Orchestra. He collaborates with the world’s major film music festivals, including FIMUCITÉ Festival, World Soundtrack Awards in Ghent, Krakow Film Music Festival, and Hollywood in Vienna. In 2011, Townson co-produced the official Abbey Road Studios 80th Anniversary Concert, while his 2012 schedule included the official Universal Pictures 100th Anniversary Concert. He was presented with the Ambassador Award at Krakow Film Music Festival’s 10th Anniversary Gala in 2017.
