Marco Patrignani

Author and music producer.

In 1996, he acquired the historical Forum Studios, created in the late 60s by four legendary film composers: Ennio Morricone, Piero Piccioni, Armando Trovajoli and Luis Bacalov, where his father Franco used to work as the main sound engineer.

The world-renowned studios were then transformed into Forum Music Village, a world’s  temple for soundtracks in which he created a new model that brought state-of-the-art production and recording facilities to global artists, producers and directors.

Between 1996 and 2004 Marco produced seven artists which appeared at several editions of the Sanremo Music Festival .His music productions sold over one million copies and led him to collaborate with important Italian and international artists such as: Ennio Morricone, Nicola Piovani, Noa, Youssou N'Dour, Morrissey and Quincy Jones. He also produced the Italian version of the animated masterpiece The Prince of Egypt (1998) for Dreamworks and worked as Associate Director of IMG Artists (2012-2015).

In 2009, he founded the Orchestra Italiana del Cinema (OIC), the first Italian symphonic ensemble dedicated exclusively to the promotion of Italian and international film music heritage by performing in the major theaters in Italy and around the world. OIC is also committed in the recovering and restoration of ancient scores, especially the historical Italian Neorealism period, where the scores has been largely lost.

In June 2018, he produced the historic Italian Première of Gladiator Live in Concert, which has been performed by OIC, featuring Lisa Gerrard inside the Colosseum, as a charity premiere to support the fundraising campaign “End Polio Now” program. The event raised half million dollars and OIC donated to the Colosseum a new elevator for disabled

Marco Patrignani has been awarded the International Leone d’Oro di Venezia (2006) for his career and the Guirlande d’Honneur (2013), the highest honour of the Federation International Cinema Television Sportifs, for the promotion of the Italian cultural and ethic values worldwide.
