Marcin Masecki

Pianist and composer, he performs jazz and classical music. Graduate of the Berklee College of Music in Boston. He played in a trio with Wojciech Pulcyn (double bass) and Grzegorz Grzyb (drums) and in the Alchemik group, with which he recorded the albums Alchemik. Acoustic Jazz Sextet, Sfera szeptów, Dracula in Bucharest and Oxen. In 1998, he recorded the album Tribute to Marek & Wacek with Andrzej Jagodziński, and in 2000, both musicians together with the Prima Vista Quartet, recorded a film music album from the interwar period, Gdzie są filmy z tamtych lat. In 2005, he performed as a guest on the album Czarno widzę by Afro Kolektyw. He has collaborated with such artists as Tomasz Stańko, George Garzone, Hal Crook, Dave Samuels, Michał Urbaniak, Wojciech Waglewski and Reni Jusis. He often plays concerts solo or in duets, among others with Candelaria Saenz Valiente, drummers Ziv Ravitz, Wojtek Sobura (with whom he forms the band Wczasowicz Paweł) and Sebastian Frankiewicz. He performs in a trio with Raphael Rogiński (guitar) and Macio Moretti (drums). He also cooperates or has cooperated with Pink Freud, Muzykoterapia, Niewinni Czarodzieje and Waglewski Fisz Emade. He was a pianist in Zbigniew Wegehaupt’s quartet, with whom he recorded two albums: Wege and Tota. Together with Jan Młynarski, he founded Jazz Band Młynarski-Masecki.
