Pianist, composer, arranger, conductor, record producer, multi-instrumentalist, doctor of musical arts. In 1993, he graduated from the Bydgoszcz Academy of Music “Feliks Nowosiejski” in the piano class of Katarzyna Popowa-Zydroń. He has performed with orchestra accompaniment, recorded chamber music for Bayerische Rundfunk in Munich, chamber music concerts with clarinettist Wojtek Mrozek, violinists Vadim Brodski and Mariusz Patyra, saxophonist Paweł Gusner and flautist Jadwiga Kotnowska. In the 1990s, he played in the Jan Ptaszyn Wróblewski quartet, was a pianist of the Zbigniew Namysłowski quartet, in 2002–2012 he performed in a duet with Edyta Geppert, and has been cooperating with Anna Maria Jopek for several years. He runs his own acoustic trio (Herdzin/Kubiszyn/Konrad) and big band. He has released over 200 records, including 18 originals; 17 of them have reached gold status, and another 4 – platinum. He has produced records by Irena Santor, Maryla Rodowicz, Edyta Geppert, Katarzyna Groniec, Anna Serafińska, Olga Bończyk and Wojciech Gąssowski. He is the author of several orchestrations and film scores, including the orchestration of Jan A.P. Kaczmarek’s music for the film Finding Neverland, which won an Oscar in 2005. He has performed all over the world as a jazzman and chamber musician. He has conducted the National Orchestra of Belgium, the Zhejiang Symphony Orchestra, the Polish National Radio Symphony Orchestra and Sinfonia Varsovia. He was the first Polish composer to record a monographic album in London’s Abbey Road Studios. He is the winner of the Fryderyk Music Award in the Jazz Composer of the Year category (2012). He was awarded the Silver Medal for Merit to Culture – Gloria Artis (2015).
