Founder and director of film music site SoundTrackFest, an independent source of information and a growing reference for film music festivals, concerts and events. He has graduated with a Computer Engineering degree from the University of Deusto, and took complementary music studies and two years of piano, which made him shift his mind into film music world and journalism.
Gorka has attended and covered many European film music festivals, collaborating with Spanish film music websites and festivals, writing articles, reviews, and keeping track of live events. Being part of Krakow Film Music Festival, Film Music Prague Festival, Movie Score Málaga, and International Sound & Film Music Festival, he has attended or hosted panels there, to talk about the role of film music festivals, development of film music concerts around the world, or the work of film music critics as ambassadors of film music as an art form. He has also given conferences in the Christopher Young Film Scoring Program Spain and SAE Alumni Convention 2018, and partnered with the World of Hans Zimmer tour. He has interviewed artists such as Lalo Schifrin, Hans Zimmer, Alexandre Desplat, James Newton Howard, Jan A.P. Kaczmarek, Jeff Beal, Diego Navarro, Cliff Martinez, Christophe Beck, Trevor Morris, Mac Quayle, Sean Callery or Łukasz Targosz.
