George Christopoulos

Born in Athens, Greece, in 1978, where he studied Graphic Arts and Multimedia Design. He entered the film music area in 2009 by directing the first ever film music concert of the Japanese composer Shigeru Umebayashi in Belgium. Since then he produced several film music concerts worldwide, collaborating with Dirk Brossé and Ludwig Wicki, among others.

In 2010, he founded Oticons, a talent agency to represent film music composers from all over the world to the international entertainment industry. Among the agency’s represented artists are Shigeru Umebayashi, Joe Kraemer, Johnny Klimek, Bobby Tahouri and Tuomas Kantelinen. Today, the agency represents over 30 composers from all over the world, and is specialized in consultation of international co-productions.

George Christopoulos has been invited as an expert to lecture by many international film and film music festivals, as well as universities, film schools and film scoring academies. In 2014, he founded an annual contest – Oticons Faculty International Film Music Competition, which became an established platform for discovering emerging talented film composers. Its Honorary Chancellor is Lalo Schifrin (composer of the original Mission: Impossible). George Christopoulos is also a voting member of European Film Academy and World Soundtrack Academy.
