He started his career in California by creating music for TV stations, including CBS, NBC, FOX, Discovery Channel, History Channel, HBO and more. The list of his projects also includes Polish TV series: Bez tajemnic [‘Without Secrets’] (dir. A. Holland, W. Smarzowski, M. Lechki, K. Adamik, A. Kazejak, J. Borcuch, A. Glińska; produced by HBO), Paradoks [‘Paradox’] (dir. B. Lankosz, G. Zgliński, I. Brejdygant), Zbrodnia [‘The Crime’] (dir. G. Zgliński, S. Fabicki), and others. He also composes music for video games, – apart from the third instalment of The Witcher series (The Wild Hunt and Blood and Wine), he also composed music for Gwent: The Witcher Card Game, Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3, The Vanishing of Ethan Carter, Detached, Kursk and Attack of the Earthlinks.
Mikołaj Stroiński likes to emphasise that his skill set encompasses a multitude of musical genres and he tries to include this diversity in his compositions when trying to come up with an original sound. The goal of the music he creates is to increase the attractiveness of commercial projects (trailers, action films) by intensifying the stimuli reaching the audience. He also appreciates projects where music complements other areas and helps with expressing emotions that cannot be conveyed with images and dialogue. This makes the picture and its message multi-dimensional, and the music itself can take the listener on an interesting and emotional journey.
