ASCAP Senior Director of Film & TV Music, Michael Todd, has 20 years of experience in the Hollywood music industry and is a leader in the film & television composer community.Todd fosters high-profile member relationships, builds and protects current repertory and market share for ASCAP, and consults in career development for Film/TV composers & songwriters. He also develops and implements strategies to recruit new members and promote the benefits of ASCAP membership.
Key industry relationships include: major & independent music publishers, film & TV studio music executives, directors, producers, soundtrack label executives, composer agents, attorneys & managers, music supervisors, music editors, publicists, advertising agencies, high profile composer members & songwriter artists, and prestigious university music departments.
He has also led and produced the acclaimed annual ASCAP Television & Film Scoring Workshop with Richard Bellis for the past 13 years. This four-week intensive “boot camp” is designed to cultivate the next generation of aspiring film composers from around the world and provide access to Hollywood’s top resources. Alumni have gone on to build successful careers, garnering major nominations and prestigious awards (Emmy, BAFTA, G.A.N.G. awards, international festivals, etc.). He has also produced panels, mentor sessions and live performances for ASCAP’s annual I Create Music Expo.
A graduate of University of Miami with a degree in Studio Music and Jazz Performance on saxophone, Todd continues to perform professionally throughout the US and internationally.
