Pianist, composer, arranger. He graduated from Musical Academy in Gdańsk.
He collaborated with some of the top jazz musicians in Poland: Tomasz Stańko, Janusz Muniak, Michał Urbaniak, as well as some world renowned artist, such as: David Friesen, Pat Metheny, Arthur Blythe, Buster Williams, Billym Harper, Joe Lovano, Archi Shepp, David Liebman, Charles Fox, Lester Bowie, David Gilmur, Marcus Miller, John Scofield, Steve Swallow, Eddi Daniels, Tan Dun and many others.
In his career he recorded around a hundred CDs. He partook in film music recordings for 20th Century Fox and Miramax, working alongside Jan A. P. Kaczmarek.
He also composed music for films and stage plays along with numerous polish directors, such as Wojciech Kościelniak, Grzegorz Jarzyna, Andrzej Domalik and Michał Zadara.
He won several prestigious awards: Fryderyk, Jazz Forum, Gdańsk City Mayor’s Award for exceptional musical achievements, ‘Ad Astra’ award for outstanding musicians, ‘Polityka’ Passport, Culture Foundation’s Grand Award, Golden Director’s Baton for services to Polish culture, Knight’s Cross of Poland’s Resurrection Order for ‘exceptional services to polish culture and achievements in artistic and creative work’.
